The AL7000SM is a replacement sensor module for the AlcoMate Premium Model AL7000 Breathalyzer. This sensor drops in to replace your old sensor in no time. Replacing the sensor periodically is critical to ensure the your breathalyzer remains accurate.
PRISM (Pre-calibrated Replaceable Intelligent Sensor Module) Technology provides you with the most accurate, advanced and convenient breath testing system on the market. Typically, calibration is often required of all portable breathalyzers in order to remain accurate. Traditional calibration service is not just time consuming (physical mail-back/processing) but also the sensor cannot be cleared of alcohol residue or other contaminant buildup over time. In other words, all fuel-sensor breathalyzers can only be calibrated a finite amount of times before losing their ability to be accurate. I bought the sensor and it doesn't seem to plug in to my AL7000.
Unfortunately, similar to many electronics, breathalyzers also have a GRAY MARKET. Gray products are those built for countries outside North America. Some foreign dealers and even some unauthorized US retailers import the AL6000 / AL7000 from Australia or Europe for sale on Amazon or eBay. These "Gray" products work the same as the North American version except for two major differences.
- THEIR SENSOR MODULE ARE LOCKED TO THAT SPECIFIC COUNTRY BY WAY OF A DIFFERENT CONNECTOR WIRING.
- ASD DOES NOT PROVIDE WARRANTY SUPPORT FOR THESE "GRAY" PRODUCTS
Simply put, when attempting to replace the sensor module, you will find that the US sensor modules will not fit. The US sensors will only fit North American devices. ASD sells and distributes true NORTH AMERICAN devices and does not support Breathalyzers that are sold on eBay or Amazon.
How many tests can I perform with the AlcoMate Premium AL7000 before I have to replace the sensor?
Under ideal testing conditions, the AlcoMate Premium should perform about 300 tests before needing a new sensor module. Frequent testing with large amounts of alcohol can potentially wear out the sensor in less time. Luckily, the AL7000 breathalyzer's features a self-diagnostic system and will alert you when you need to replace the sensor.
