Replaceable sensor module for the AlcoMate Prestige Al6000 Breathalyzer
IMPORTANT NOTE: There are two un-interchangeable sensor modules for the AlcoMate Prestige. Please read the followings carefully before you order any sensor. Sensor modules are not returnable
To order a correct sensor for your previously purchased AlcoMate Prestige, please watch out for the color of your old sensor's circuit board and order the right color to ensure compatibility. Sensors with green circuit board work with all Prestige units sold prior to December 2007 and sensors with a red circuit board work for all AlcoMate Prestige breathalyzers sold after December 2007 including any new Prestige you are buying today.
This requires that you first identify the version of the sensor in your previously purchased AlcoMate Prestige before you order any replacement sensor module. Installation
Prepare your AlcoMate Prestige.
Use a flat, sharp tool to carefully open the top cover.
Lift the breath tube to access the sensor module.
Remove the breath tube. It should remove easily
Carefully raise the sensor module from the body. Do NOT detach the cable from the body.
Remove the cable from the slot underneath the sensor module.
Prepare a new pre-calibrated sensor module
Insert the cable into the new sensor. Make sure the blue strip is toward the sensor, as shown.
Replace the sensor module into its original position.
Re-attach the breath tube directly on to the sensor. Make sure the front opening is aligned.
Re-attach the cover on to the top of the body. It should snap in fairly easily.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the Red and Green Sensor model?
The Green Sensor is simply an older version of AlcoMate Prestige sensor module that was discontinued at the end of 2007. Although, the functionality are identical, they are not physically interchangeable. If you purchased your AlcoMate Prestige after December 31, 2007, then you must have the red sensor. If you're unsure which version you have, remove the unit's black cap and determine the color of the sensor's circuit board. If you need assistance, please call us at any time.
How many tests can I perform with my AlcoMate Premium AL6000 before I need to replace its sensor?
Under ideal testing conditions, AlcoMate Premium sensor should perform roughly 300 tests before you need to replace sensor. Continuous testing with higher amounts of alcohol may potentially wear out the sensor faster. The AL6000's test counter will let you know how many tests you have performed. Refer to your user's guide to learn how to display this test counter.
How do I display the test count in my AlcoMate Prestige Breathalyzer?
With the unit off, press and hold the power on switch. The counter will be displayed while you are still holding the button down.
